Wedding Day Jitters

By:

Wedding Day Jitters

Everyone gets them at some point or another and on your wedding day, the jitters and nerves may take over leaving you sweating, shaking and unable to really enjoy yourself properly. If you fear this happening to you as a bride or groom, here are a few hints to help you get through the jittering and nerves and down the aisle to say “I do”.

The first thing you should do is take deep breaths. Don’t rush around and make sure you have everything you need ready and packed the day before. Have a nice relaxing bath in the morning and calmingly get dressed. Keep breathing. Lack of oxygen is why we faint, start sweating and feel tired or worn out. If you keep concentrating on taking deep, long breaths, you will already be much calmer and drier!

Many people get wedding day jitter due to the wedding planning that they have done. Brides are worried about everything and grooms are also frantic about the goings on, costs and guests arriving. If you are also afraid to make a speech, it can make you very nervous and jittery. One thing you can do to stop the nerves is to close your eyes and go into a happy, peaceful place. Think of yourself sitting on a beautiful beach somewhere, or floating in a warm pool. Somewhere like a paradise will help you to relax and transform your negative energy into positive energy. It is understandable to be nervous, but you also need to remember that you are just standing in front of family and friends who all love you and know you. Imagine that you are just speaking to them as you would at an ordinary party or family get together.

Wedding planning brings with it lots of stress and anxiety about various things like the flowers, cake, catering, venue, DJ and more, so jitters about this can cause you to have an unpleasant day. Rather delegate. Well before the time; ask some friends or family members that are not in the wedding party, to handle different aspects of the wedding day. You can also hire a wedding planner just for the day of your wedding to coordinate everything and make sure everything is where it should be. You don’t want to be shouting at a florist because your flowers have not arrived while you are just about to walk down the aisle. Let someone else take over for the day so you can relax and enjoy yourself.

Weddings are generally quite big affairs and with tons of family arriving from all over the world sometimes, nerves can be quite high and tempers can easily flair. If you get into an argument with your bride or groom, don’t worry about it. This does not mean you are not meant to be together or that you should cancel your wedding. Just try to be on each other’s side and understand each other’s nerves, worries and stresses. Once you are husband and wife, everything will be just perfect.
